There are various types of elevators commonly used in vegetable processing lines, the following are some common types:
Bucket elevator
Structural principle: It consists of hopper, traction member (such as chain or tape), driving device, tensioning device and casing. Through the driving device to drive the traction member, so that the hopper cycle operation, from the lower position to the higher position to lift the vegetables. The hopper is loaded with vegetables at the bottom, and when it rises to the top with the traction member, the vegetables are discharged through the unloading device.
Features: high lifting height, generally up to dozens of meters; large conveying capacity to meet the needs of large-scale vegetable processing; applicable to a variety of shapes and sizes of vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and other chunky vegetables, as well as cabbage, spinach and other leafy vegetables. However, the damage to the vegetables is relatively large, and it is not applicable to the vegetables that are easy to break or easy to deform.
Belt elevator
Structural principle: The conveyor belt is used as the traction and carrying member, and the conveyor belt is circulated through the driving roller and tensioning roller. Vegetables are placed on the conveyor belt and lifted to the specified height with the movement of the conveyor belt.
Characteristics: smooth conveying, little damage to vegetables, suitable for conveying all kinds of vegetables, especially leafy vegetables and some easily broken vegetables; large conveying capacity, different widths of conveyor belts can be selected according to the needs; simple structure, easy maintenance. However, the lifting height is relatively limited, generally suitable for low and medium height lifting operations.
Chain plate elevator
Structural principle: It adopts chain plate as the carrying and conveying part, and the chain plate is driven by chain. Vegetables are placed on the chain plate and lifted with the movement of the chain plate. The pitch and width of the chain plate can be selected according to the characteristics of the vegetables and conveying requirements.
Characteristics: large carrying capacity, capable of conveying heavier vegetables, such as large winter melon, pumpkin, etc.; high strength of the chain plate, good abrasion resistance, long service life; smooth operation, able to work in high temperature, humidity and other harsh environments. However, the cost of the equipment is high, and the requirements for installation and maintenance are relatively high.
Screw elevator
Structural principle: It is mainly composed of screw shaft, material trough and driving device. The screw shaft rotates in the trough, so that the vegetables move upward along the trough under the push of the screw blades to realize the lifting.
Characteristics: compact structure, small footprint; good sealing, which can prevent the vegetables from being contaminated during the lifting process; suitable for conveying powdery, granular and small pieces of vegetables, such as beans, corn kernels and so on. However, the vegetables are easy to be squeezed and rubbed in the conveying process, which is not very suitable for fragile or easy to damage vegetables.
